1.Carbohydrates are any group of organic compounds that includes sugar, starches and cellulose. They are broken down in the small intestine.

2. Animals store glucose as fat and store glucose as glycogen. These glycogen molecules the animal stores in the liver and muscles tissues as an instant source of energy.

3. Fat contains the most calories on a gram-per-gram basis.

4. Saturated fats are fats that contain as many hydrogen atoms as they possibly can, but unsaturated fats come from plant products such as corn, peanut oil, and certain types of margarine.

5. Osteoporosis is a disease caused by the lack of Vitamin D.

6. Bile is a thick digestive fluid and is stored in the gallbladder. Bile helps digestion by breaking down fats into fatty acids.

7.  Rickets are caused by the lack of use calcium and phosphorus normally due to inadequate sunlight or vitamin D.

8. The main function of the Large Intestine is to receive food and drink from the Small Intestine, absorb some nutrients and fluids, and excrete the waste in the form of stools.

9.  BMI stands for Body Mass Index. My BMI is 21.2 and calories recommended is 2540.

10. – Some labels on packaged food contain health claims that tell you how food choices affect your health.

- Healthy diet low in saturated fat and trans fat reduce risk of heart disease.

-Look for whole grain and other high fiber foods to boost your fiber intake.

- Daily Value(% DV) tells you whether a good contains little or lot of nutrients.

- Iron is an important nutrients in food that helps carry oxygen in blood cells to all body tissue.

11. My calcium intake is 1050mg. Normal calcium intake for a teenager is 1300mg.

12. – Eggs and butter not part of a milk group.

- Canadian Bacon and Pineapple pizza contains foods from all the five food groups.

- Carbohydrates is the best  energy source for athletes.

- Vitamin A and C cure acne.

- Lack of Iron causes Anemia ( lack of red blood cells)

- Body needs calories to grow and repair cells.

- Protein build and repairs your muscles and organs.

- Water helps body stay cool and get rid of waste.

- Vitamin A helps eyes adapt to darkness.

- Vitamin D helps bones get the calcium they need.
