1. Explain the thickness between left and right ventricle.
- The two ventricles are different in thickness because the left ventricle pumps more blood then the right ventricle. The right ventricle pumps blood to the lungs which is so close to it, but the left ventricle needs to pump the blood through out the body. That’s what it is way thicker. More muscle is needed.
2. What did the Aorta feel like?
- The aorta was very stretchy and tough to me and it also looked pinkish. When we tried to cut it, it was very hard because of its toughness. The aorta is the artery that pumps blood throughout the body. As soon as you put your finger through this artery it leads to 2 different chambers.
3. Does the Aorta have a lot of it’s own blood supply?
- I think the aorta had a lot of it’s on blood supply because it has to pump the blood that goes through the artery to the whole body.
4. How many Pulmonary veins are there?
- There were 2 pulmary veins on each side of the heart.
5. What kind of muscle is the heart muscle made out of?
- The heart muscle is called the cardiac muscle it’s function is to pump blood through he circulatory system.
6. Which valve from the pig is used for human transplant ? What drugs do you have to take after transplant.
- The valve that the pigs have for a human transplant is called the mitral valve. The drugs that humans have to take everyday is called immunosuppressive.
